Henkel published its Sustainability Report 2006 on March 22, 2007. The report can be downloaded from www.henkel.com/sustainability.
Henkel’s Sustainability Report offers a comprehensive documentation of the Company’s progress towards its sustainability targets through its environmental, economic and social indicators over the previous 12 month period. The report puts its focus on the following key areas: contribution to economic development, values and management, sustainable products and resource efficiency, employees and jobs, as well as social commitment.
Henkel’s sustainability performance for the years 2002 to 2006 again showed positive results. The environmental indicators (per metric ton of output) reveal significant improvements, such as 27 percent less energy and 21 percent less carbon dioxide emissions.
During the same period, Henkel sales grew by 32 percent and profit (EBIT) rose by 61 percent. One especially satisfying result is the substantial reduction – by 72 percent – in occupational accidents.
