Novo Nordisk, the Danish-based healthcare company, has published its 2006 Annual Report, backed by an online version, with additional background, context and detail. The printed report comes in two sections, with 50 pages of management report and feature articles; and the consolidated financial and non-financial statements. The report complies with the IFRS and is in accordance with the GRI. It has been independently audited and assured.
For the third year, Novo Nordisk issues an integrated report, combining both financial and non-financial information in one publication to enhance stakeholders’ valuation of the company. With an emphasis on shareholders, the annual reports seek to provide these with insights into the company’s strategies, activities and achievements.
The report accounts for the company’s performance during the year and discusses key challenges. It presents strategic initiatives to developing the business in order to meet its targets and sustain long-term shareholder value creation. And it explains Novo Nordisk’s way of doing business as a values-based company guided by a vision.
As a focused healthcare company, Novo Nordisk is committed to leading the fight against diabetes. This year’s report includes feature articles on the company’s changing diabetes campaign including the active support for a UN Resolution on Diabetes. Other featured sustainability programmes address global access to health, climate change, business ethics and responsible sourcing.
