Total, the world’s fourth largest publicly-traded integrated oil and gas company, has recently published its 2006 Corporate Social Responsibility Report, entitled ‘Sharing Our Energies’. To download the report, go to www.total.com/csr
Prepared annually since 2002, the report is designed to facilitate dialogue with the Group’s stakeholders, including employees, shareholders, business partners, local authorities and institutions, neighboring communities and academics.

Using real-world examples from various subsidiaries and business units, the report covers how Total addresses key challenges arising from its activities, such as promoting human rights, combating climate change, contributing to local development in non-OECD countries, and ensuring financial transparency.
Highlighting Total’s commitment to embed corporate social responsibility in its strategy, the report provides a wide range of safety, environmental and community key performance indicators.
The report complies with the IPIECA Oil and Gas Industry Guidance on Voluntary Sustainability Reporting and is in line with the Global Reporting Initiative. It has been externally verified by Ernst & Young and KPMG, with a moderate level of assurance.
