Gala Coral Group publishes 2009 Corporate Responsibility Report23rd February, 2010

Gala Coral’s 2009 report focuses on how the Group used the Corporate Responsibility strategy “Our People, Our Places and Our Products” to drive through and support community based initiatives and reduce its environmental impact. The report can be viewed here.
In the year, Gala Coral raised over £1m for charity particularly focusing on its award winning relationship with charity partner Sue Ryder Care, where it raised over £100,000 alone in a campaign to play the World’s Highest Game of Bingo - by playing Bingo on Mount Everest for the charity.
The company also set a goal of achieving zero to landfill by 2012. With in the financial year the company’s Gala Bingo Clubs distributed 3 million energy saving light bulbs to customers to support climate change awareness. Critically the company continues to invest in responsible gambling and acts to minimise its negative impact on society.
Gala Coral Group is the only gambling company in the UK with significant businesses in the bookmaking, bingo and casino markets, both on the high street and online. The Group employs nearly 17,000 people across its various trading divisions.
